Synopsis

The series of works “Tangles” consists of clusters of intricate threads reminiscent of the complex meanders of the brain. Multiform meanders speaking about perdition and redemption, about courage and fear, about good and evil, about hidden mysteries and jealously guarded secrets.
Inextricable interweaves, complicated labyrinths, in which it is easy to get lost, yet with a strong desire to untangle them somehow.
So, Minolitis’s gargles symbolize chaos, but at the same time the effort to impose an order on him.
It takes courage and intelligence to embark on a tortuous journey from beginning to end.
Already the myth of the Minotaur tells us that Theseus came back after he killed the monster, thanks to the wire of Ariadne, a ball of yarn to unroll at the entrance in order to find the exit. Ariadne’s thread therefore expresses our rational will: only facing a path you can overcome the terror of the monster and return back transformed and ready to start a new life.
Though the artist’s knots are enclosed in spaces apparently limited, they indicate a journey beyond the limit, towards a dimension still to explore. In short, the tangle is the universal emblem of the search for infinity, and therefore of the “plus ultra”, of the non-limit from us finite beings and limited.
